As we age, our bodies produce less and less collagen. Decreasing levels of collagen leads to thinner drier and less elastic skin, resulting in sagging or drooping of the facial tissues, as well as fine lines and wrinkles.
It seems like ageing is inevitable for all of us, but the fact is that looking old is now optional. For years, man has searched for that elusive fountain of youth. With Gouri, we are one step closer.
What is Gouri and what are the benefits?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, providing strength and support to our skin. It acts as a framework support for our skin. Without it, our skin sags.
Gouri is able to slow down the process of collagen loss and improve the levels of collagen in our bodies. With its patented CESABP technology, which stands for Collagenesis Enabled Solubilised Active and Biodegradable Polymer Technology, it enables regeneration of natural skin collagen without the use of microparticles.
Developed in Korea, Gouri is the first injectable with liquid PCL (polycaprolactone). PCL has long been used in regenerative medicine to heal and improve the quality of tissues. Gouri is the first and only injectable on the market that has liquid PCL, enabling a smooth injection and allowing the body to easily absorb the product. This liquid PCL also makes tissue integration smooth and efficient.
How is Gouri different from other collagen stimulators?
Other collagen stimulator products on the market involve micro-derma particles. Due to the nature of this, there is usually an uneven spread of the product. Gouri, made up of only liquid PCL, gives a very even distribution, allowing for equal collagen synthesis for the entire face.
This even distribution is one of the three fundamentals of Gouri’s anti-aging care. The three fundamentals are Spreadability, Sustainability and Safety.
Spreadability: Gouri’s liquid PCL is able to naturally and evenly spread across the entire facial skin, enabling collagen synthesis and regeneration over the entire face.
Sustainability: PCL has higher duration time compared to Hyaluronic Acid (HA) dermal fillers. Gouri gives sustained improvements to skin ageing by rejuvenating the skin rather than simply filling up volume defects.
Safety: Being the only liquid PCL, and thus free of particles, Gouri has a much lower risk of side effects caused by vascular occlusion or granuloma formation.
Who is suitable for Gouri?
Anyone is possibly suitable for this treatment.
How is Gouri applied to the skin?
The procedure involves 5 point injections to the deep dermis on each side of the face, 10 injections in total.
Before the procedure, after consultation with a doctor, you will be taken to the treatment room for numbing cream to be applied. This is to further enhance your comfort throughout the process. Once this is done, the doctor will then start the injections into the desired areas of the face. The injections will be done gently and carefully. The process only takes several minutes. The procedure is relatively quick and painless.
How often do I need to do the treatment, and how long does it last?
For best results, it is recommended to have 3 sessions at 4 week intervals. Following the 3rd session, an additional 1-2 treatments may be needed at 3-6 month intervals, depending on the patient’s condition.
After the recommended regimen, the effects of Gouri can last up to 1 year.
What is Gouri’s downtime?
There is minimal downtime after the procedure. There might be a very slight chance of bruising and slight swelling which will go down in a few hours.
Each patient is different and depending on the patient’s condition, results can be seen within a few weeks.
